Archived Meeting Minutes for the Town of EnglewoodMinutes from the Commission Meeting held on December 5, 1995 The Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the Town of Englewood met in regular session, Tuesday, December 5, 1995 at 6:00 p.m. in the Assembly Room at City Hall. Mayor Cass brought the meeting to order with Commissioners Long, Brock, Middleton, and Davis present. Invocation was given by Commissioner Davis. Motion was made by Middleton, seconded by Davis to accept the minutes from November. All ayes. Motion was made by Davis, seconded by Middleton to approve the contract from Marion Environmental. All ayes. Motion was made by Brock, seconded by Long to let employees join a credit union if they choose. All ayes. Concerning the bids on the mower and tractor, motion was made to table until the work session by Middleton and seconded by Brock. All ayes. Motion was made by Middleton, seconded by Davis to transfer the cable franchise from Athens Cable to Scripps-Howard. All ayes. Motion was made by Middleton, seconded by Brock to request deeds on all property that has delinquent taxes. All ayes. Motion was made by Davis, seconded by Middleton to accept the 2nd reading of the Building Code Ordinances. All ayes. Motion was made by Davis, seconded by Long to hire Robert Bell and Larry Moses as full-time police officers. All ayes. Motion was made by Davis, seconded by Middleton to purchase hams and turkeys for employees and to have a Christmas dinner that also included the firemen. All ayes. Motion was made by Middleton, seconded by Davis to have the chipper set up at the city barn on January 6th so people can bring their Christmas trees to have them disposed of. All ayes. Concerning the gas line for Bill Roach, motion was made by Middleton, seconded by Long to table. All ayes. Motion was made by Long, seconded by Middleton to go ahead and pay the policemen their supplement pay. All ayes. Concerning the phone at the water plant, motion was made by Middleton, seconded by Long to table until the work session. All ayes. Motion was made by Middleton, seconded by Davis to accept the monthly billing errors for November. All ayes. Motion was made by Brock, seconded by Middleton to average Jerry McConkey's bill because he had a leak. All ayes. Bids on the confiscated vehicles were as follows: Ford EXP-$125.00; Ford Probe-$1250.00; old police car-$400.00; Toyota truck-$500.00; Chevy Cavalier-$125.00. Motion was made by Brock, seconded by Middleton to accept these bids. All ayes. Motion was made by Middleton, seconded by Davis to adjourn. Robert L. Cass Deborah Morgan
